Drosanthemum floribundum

From South Africa. Grows to 6 in. tall, but stems trail to considerable length or drape over rocks and walls. This is the best ice plant for reducing erosion on steep slopes (plant 1 1/2 ft. apart). Pale pink, 3/4-in.-wide flowers form shimmering sheets of bloom; attract bees. Often sold as Drosanthemum hispidum.
