Native to the Balearic Islands and Corsica. Dainty-looking but tough plant, forming a dense foliage tuft to 3–6 in. high, 1 ft. across. Long-stalked, dark green, roundish, 1/3-in.-long leaves with scalloped edges. Profuse, cup-shaped, 1/2-in.-wide flowers with white or rose pink, rosy-veined petals notched at tips, early spring into fall. Good small-scale groundcover, rock garden plant. A double-flowered pink and a single-flowered white form exist. Plant in porous soil.
