Euryops pectinatus

Asteraceae (Compositae)
Evergreen, Shrubs

EURYOPS

Native to South Africa. Grown for their profuse show of cheerful yellow daisies over a long season. Leaves are finely divided; flower heads are daisylike. Long bloom season; keep old flowers picked off. Plants need excellent drainage. They thrive on buffeting ocean winds but are damaged by sharp frosts. Take well to container culture.

Euryops pectinatus

Grows to 3–6 ft. tall and wide. Easy care and an extremely long flowering season make it a good filler, background plant, or low screen. Gray-green, deeply divided, 2-in.-long leaves. Bright yellow, 1 1/2–2-in.-wide daisies appear on 6-in. stems, blooming most of the year. Cut back in late spring or early summer to maintain compactness and limit size.
