Small, rounded plant (9–12 in. high and wide) with egg-shaped, inch-long leaves and blue, sweet-scented, star-shaped flowers centered with tufts of bright yellow stamens. (A white variety is also available.) Needs rich soil, high humidity, some shade or bright indirect light. Deadhead to prolong bloom. Good plant for house or cool greenhouse. Suitable in beds or containers as outdoor annual.
