Fargesia nitida

Central China. Grows in a narrow clump to 6–8 ft. tall fairly quickly, and possibly to 20 ft. over many years. Canes are 3/4 in. in diameter. Light, airy, arching and dropping at top. Greenish purple culms mature to deep purplish black. Needs shade to look its best.
