x Fatshedera lizei
Araliaceae
Evergreen, Shrubs, Vines
This is an intergeneric hybrid between Japanese aralia (Fatsia japonica) and English ivy (Hedera helix), with characteristics of both parents. Highly polished, 4–10-in. wide evergreen leaves with three to five pointed lobes look like giant ivy leaves; plant also sends out long, trailing or climbing stems like ivy, though without aerial holdfasts. This hybrid inherited shrubbiness from its Japanese aralia parent, though its habit is more irregular and sprawling.
