IRIS

A large and remarkably diverse group of 200 to 300 species, varying in flower color and form, cultural needs, and blooming periods (although the majority flower in spring or early summer). Leaves are swordlike or grasslike. Flowers (fragrant, in many kinds) are showy and complex in structure.

Iris hybrid (Tall Bearded)

Among the choicest perennials for borders, massing, and cutting. Easy to grow. Midspring flowers, on branching stems 2 1/2 to 4 ft. high. All colors but pure red and green are sold; patterns of two colors or more and blends produce an infinite variety. Countless named selections are available.
