Native to Chile. This is a slow-growing, single-stemmed palm that grows to 50–60 ft. tall and 25 ft. wide. Massive trunk may grow to 3 ft. thick; patterned with scars of leaf bases. Feather-type leaves; insignificant flowers. Hardy for a palm (to 20°F/–7°C).
