Iris relatives with fans of swordlike leaves and clusters of white flowers from late spring to midsummer. Blooms consist of three large petals and three much smaller ones, giving them a triangular look.

To 2 ft. high, 1 ft.wide; forms colonies by rhizomes. Narrow, erect olive green leaves have a strong orange to brownish-orange center stripe; especially attractive when backlit. Branching clusters of inch-wide flowers on stems shorter than leaves. Good in containers.
