These slow-growing fan palms somewhat resemble Washingtonia but generally have shorter, darker, shinier leaves. They are hardy to about 22°F/–6°C. All make good potted plants.

From coastal forests of eastern Australia. To 40 to 50 ft. tall, 15 ft. wide. Has clean, slender trunk with interesting-looking leaf scars. Dark green leaves are 3 to 5 ft. wide.
