Grows 12 to 15 ft. tall and wide, with multiple stems and a broad canopy of finely cut bright green leaves somewhat like those of acacia. Blooms in late spring or early summer, bearing masses of 1/2- to 1-in.-wide, creamy white, clustered flowers like little puffballs emerging from round buds. These are followed by flat, ridged brown seedpods 4 to 8 in. long. Good informal background shrub, patio tree (can be trained to a single stem), or transition plant between garden and desert.
