MYOPORUMThese evergreen shrubs and trees produce bell-shaped flowers that are attractive at close range but not showy; fruit small but colorful. Shiny dark green leaves with translucent dots. Tough and fast growing.
Myoporum parvifoliumNative to Australia. Ground cover to 3–6 in. high, 9 ft.wide, with dense covering of light green leaves 1/4 to 1 1/2 in. long, 1/4 in. or less wide. Tiny white summer flowers are followed by purple fruits. Plant 6–8 ft. apart; plants will fill in within 6 months, rooting where stems touch moist soil. Good on banks, slopes.Will not tolerate foot traffic.
