PAXISTIMA

Low-growing shrubs with small, shiny, leathery leaves and insignificant flowers. Hardiness and compact habit make them useful as low hedges, edgings, ground cover in cold-winter areas. Best in well-drained soil.

Paxistima canbyi

Native to mountains of eastern U.S. Slowly makes a mat to 1 ft. high, 3 to 5 ft.wide. Narrow, dark green leaves grow about 3/4 in. long.
