South African ice plant relative. Trailing stems to 2 ft. long are profusely set with inch-wide, heartshaped or oval, fleshy leaves. Inch-wide flowers bloom in spring and summer. Despite fleshy foliage, it looks less like ice plant than most other related plants do. Used as low trailer in rock garden, on slope or wall; plant 2 ft. apart. Also good in hanging pot. On California's invasive plant list.
