Aptenia cordifolia

Aizoaceae
Cacti and succulents, Perennials

South African ice plant relative. Trailing stems to 2 ft. long are profusely set with inch-wide, heart-shaped or oval, fleshy leaves. Inch-wide flowers bloom in spring and summer. Despite fleshy foliage, it looks less like ice plant than most other related plants do. Used as a low trailer in rock gardens, on slopes or walls; plant 2 ft. apart. Also good in hanging pots. On California’s invasive plant list.
