PRITCHARDIA

Complex genus; includes 19 native Hawaiian species and about 25 species restricted to various other tropical Pacific islands. Erect, medium-size fan palms with straight trunk and regular form. Best in well-drained soil with moderate moisture. Plant in groups or use as specimens. Young plants tolerate shade and are good in containers, indoors or out.

Pritchardia hillebrandii

Native to Hawaii. Slow growing to 20 ft. tall, 8 ft. wide. Leaves to 4 ft. long. Full sun brings out the bluish silver color of the foliage. Striking accent in the landscape during the day or under night lighting.
