Russelia equisetiformis

Coral Fountain, Firecracker Plant
Scrophulariaceae
Perennials

Native to Mexico. To 5 ft. high and wide, with trailing, almost leafless bright green stems that look attractive spilling from a hanging basket or over the top of a wall. Stems can also be fastened to a trellis or other vertical surface. Can be grown in a rock garden. Throughout spring and summer (all year in Hawaii), many side branches bear a profusion of bright red, narrowly tubular flowers that look like little firecrackers.
