SABAL

Slow-growing fan palms; some have trunks, some do not. Mature plants bear large clusters of tiny flowers among the leaves. Tolerate salt spray. All withstand 20°F/–7°C.

From the southeastern U.S. Grows to 20 ft. tall and 10 ft. wide; much taller in its native habitat. Big (5–8 ft.) green leaves form a dense, globular head.
