SENECIO

This group of daisy relatives includes the well-known dusty miller and florist’s cineraria as well as less familiar garden plants and even a few weeds. Succulent species are often sold as Kleinia, an earlier name.

Native to South Africa. To 1–1 1/2 ft. high, 2 ft. wide. Cylindrical, slightly curved, striking blue-gray leaves to 6 in. long. Use as ground cover where blue-gray effect is desired. Beyond hardiness range, grow in a container and provide winter protection.
