Much-branched, neat plant grows 3–5 ft. high, 4–8 ft. wide. Narrow, 1 1/4–2-in.-long leaves, pungently aromatic when bruised, are shiny dark green on upper surface, white and woolly beneath; leaf edges are rolled under. Flowers, in separated clusters on a long stalk, are blue with conspicuous, arching stamens. Stalks and flowers are covered with blue, pink, or whitish wool. Blooms in spring; continues throughout summer and early fall if old flower stems are cut back. Temperamental plant; needs perfect drainage.
