Clumps of long-stalked, shiny rich green, usually arrow-shaped leaves, sometimes spotted in white. Flower bract (spathe) surrounds a central spike (spadix) tightly covered with tiny true flowers.

Zantedeschia aethiopica

To 2–4 ft. tall,with unspotted leaves to 1/2 ft. long, 10 in.wide. In spring (sometimes continuing into summer), pure or creamy white spathes to 8 in. long appear on stems slightly taller than foliage.
