Asteriscus sericeus

Canary Island Daisy

Perennials, Flowers

ASTERISCUS

These leafy, evergreen, almost shrubby plants produce showy yellow, 1 1/2–2-in. daisies throughout most of the year. Shear spent flowers to neaten appearance and prolong bloom.

Asteriscus sericeus

To 3 ft. tall and wide, shrubbier than A. maritimus. Silky, silvery leaves set off bright yellow flowers for a silver-and-gold effect. The foliage has an odd odor, and old leaves tend to blacken and adhere to the stems. If groomed, makes a striking container plant.
