ASTERISCUS

These leafy, evergreen, almostshrubby plants produce showyyellow, 1 1/2–2-in. daisies throughoutmost of the year. Shearspent flowers to neaten appearanceand prolong bloom.

Asteriscus sericeus

To 3 ft. tall and wide, shrubbier than A. maritimus. Silky, silvery leaves set off bright yellow flowersfor a silver-and-gold effect. The foliage has an odd odor, and old leaves tend to blacken and adhere to the stems. Ifgroomed, makes a striking container plant.
