This Mexican native looks like a yucca, with rosettes of 2-ft.-long, 2-in.-wide gray-green leaves that are soft and spineless. Clumps increase slowly by offsets to eventually reach 3–4 ft. wide. In early summer, a thick coral pink stalk rises to 3–7 ft., its many pink branches hung with bell-shaped, yellow-tinted green flowers in yellow bracts. Thrives in well-drained gardensoil or large container; suffersin cold, wet earth. ‘FlamingoGlow’ has yellow striped leaves, green flowers.
