DICHONDRA

These low-growing plants spread by rooting surface runners. One species is an often-seen small-scale groundcover; the other is an interesting foliage plant.

Dichondra argentea 'Silver Falls'

Grows 2–3 in. high and spreads 4–6 ft. wide. Heart-shaped leaves are covered with silvery down, as are the stems. Eye-catching, shimmering container plant; cascades over the edge of pots or window boxes. Canalso be used as a small-scalegroundcover. Easy to grow from seed. Use as an annual in cold-winter areas.
