X HEUCHERELLAThese hybrids combine the flowering habit of coral bells (Heuchera)with the heart-shaped leaves of foamflower (Tiarellacordifolia). Most produce foliage clumps 4–6 in. high and about 1 ft. wide; leaves are deeply lobed and up to 4 in. across. Late spring or summer blooms of pink or white are held on thin stalks 1–2 ft. high, creating acandlelike effect. Excellentchoice for shaded rock gardens or as woodland groundcover. Require rich, well-drained soil.
