Large to very large; roundish to pear-shaped.Thick, greenish yellow skin is russeted, sometimes blushed. Superb flavor and texture. Ripens after cold storage. Late.Big, vigorous tree; slow to reach bearing age. Bears good crops when soil, climate, and exposure are right. Moderately susceptible to fireblight. Generally self-fruitful but does better in the Northwest with apollenizer. ‘Red Comice’ is a red-skinned sport.
