Absolutely covered with slender, sinuous spikes of pink or lavender-pink blossoms in summer, this annual starts as alow, 1-ft.-wide rosette of narrowleaves to 8 in. long. Flowerspikes that rise to 18 in. areuseful fresh or dried in arrangements. Sow seeds in ground when danger of frost is past, or start seeds earlier indoors. Native to Iran, Afghanistan, and central Asia.
