Handsome foliage plant fromJapan, Korea. Grows to 30 ft.tall and 25 ft. wide, with horizontalbranching pattern. Oval,5-in.-long, glossy dark greenleaves cluster near branch tips.In late spring, elongated (to 5 in.)clusters of 10 to 20 brightgreen flowers appear at branchends. Each 3/4-in. blossom ismade up of a flat disk surroundedby stamens. Blossomsare followed by fruits consistingof small pods clustered aroundthe disk. Prefers organicallyenriched soil.
