Perennials, Flowers

Fast-growing, bushy plant from the Cape region of South Africa. Grows to 15 in. high and wide, with very finely divided, bright green leaves reminiscent of dill. Golden orange flowers 2 in. across have a maroon circle around a central golden eye. Flowers open during the day, close in the evening and on cloudy days. Bloom period lasts for several months, peaking in summer. Tolerant of heat and drought once established. ‘Solar Fire’ is an excellent variety with larger flowers.
