These desert plants have yellow daisies that are borne singly or in loose clusters at stem ends. Cut plants back after bloom or before new growth begins to encourage bushiness and good looks. They are useful in restoring native vegetation and in stabilizing soil.

Viguiera multiflora

Native from Montana to California and Arizona. Grows to 1–3 ft. high and 1 1/2 ft. wide, with hairy, lance-shaped green leaves 1–2 in. long. Spring or summer flowers to 2 in. wide; blooms the first year from seed.
