Only 1–2 ft. tall and wide, with nodding, 1/2-in., bell-shaped brown to reddish brown flowers with yellow interior; winter bloom. Powerful, pleasant scent combines freesia, orange blossom, and other fragrances. Count on replacing the plant every 2 or 3 years from seed or cuttings. Lasts longer grown in light potting mix in containers. ‘Jack Maguire’s Red’ has deep orange-red blooms.
