Dolichos lablabPerennial vine usually grown as annual. Fast growing to 10 ft. Broad, oval, medium green leaflets to 3–6 in. long. Sweet pea–shaped purple or white flowers in loose clusters on long stems stand out from foliage. Flowers followed by velvety, beanlike magenta purple pods to 2 1/2 in. long. Grow like string beans for quick screening. Needs good drainage.
