Easy planting plans and garden ideas
Grows slowly, 10 to 24 ft. tall and wide, with gnarled, twisted branches that look attractive in winter when leafless. Oval, 2- to 4-in. leaves are dark green above, whitish beneath; turn yellow in autumn. White or pale pink, 2-in. flowers are followed by 3- to 4-in., round to pear-shaped fruit in fall. Quinces are often golden, woody textured, astringently tart when fresh, and have a heavenly fragrance; much loved in jams, jellies, and in combination with other fruits in pies.
